Judeo-Christian Bible Study
"For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones,
or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all
things consist"
(Colossians 1:16-17).
"If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own:
but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that
I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have
kept my saying, they will keep yours also. But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him
that sent me”
(John 15:18-21).
"For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of
the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your
conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this cause he is the mediator [Greek, mesites, a go between, an internunciator,
a reconciler, intercessor] of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under
the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. For where a testament is, there must
also of necessity be the death
of the testator”
(Hebrews 9:13-16).
“To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done
abominable works, there is none that doeth good. The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any
that did understand, and seek God. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no,
not one”
(Psalms 14:1-3).
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified [found
by God not guilty, innocent] by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled
to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved
by his life”
(Romans 5:8-10).
