God is faithful, even when we aren't. Despite what we feel, think or do, day by day He continues to do what he said He would do We must also realize that it is not our will that God does [unless our will is also His will], but His own will. God fulfills all His promises in His own timing. God's faithfulness does not mean that He will always do what we want or need done, but He will always do what He has said He will do.
Websters New College Dictionary defines faithful as full of faith, steadfast in affection or allegiance, firm in adherance to promises or in observance of duty, given with strong assurance, or true to the facts. Unger's Bible Dictionary defines faithfulness [Hebrew, emunah] as an attribute ascribed to God in many places, especially the psalms, which exhibits His character as worthy of the love and confidence of man, and assures us that He will certainly fulfill His promises, as well as execute His threats against sin. God's faithfulness can be manifested in temporal blessings (1 Timothy 4:8; Psalms 84:11; Isaiah 33:16), spiritual blessings (1 Corinthians 1:9), support in temptation (1 Corinthians 10:13) and persecution (1 Peter 4:12-13; Isaiah 41:10), sanctifying of afflictions (Hebrews 12:4-12), directing in difficulties (2 Chronicles 32:22; Psalms 32:8), enabling to persevere (Jeremiah 32:40), and bringing to glory (1 John 2:25). In the new testament, faithful is translated from the Greek word pistos, meaning trustworthy or trustful, sure, or true.
Verses pertinent to the faithfulness of God:
But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil. And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you (2 Thes 3:3-4).
If we believe not, yet he abideth [continues, remains] faithful: he cannot deny himself (2 Tim 2:13.).
For the word [speaking and actions] of the LORD is right [straight, equitable, upright]; and all his works are done in truth. He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD (Psa 33:4-5).
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us (1 John 1:9-10).
Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord (1 Cor 1:6-9).
Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him [God] faithful who had promised (Heb 11:11).
Abstain from all appearance of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it (1 Thes 5:22-24).
Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations (Deu 7:9).
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it (1 Cor 10:13).
Thy mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds (Psa 36:5).
O LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee (Psa 89:8).
Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth (Psa 119:90).
And, behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth: and ye know in all your hearts and in all your souls, that not one thing hath failed of all the good things which the LORD your God spake concerning you; all are come to pass unto you, and not one thing hath failed thereof. Therefore it shall come to pass, that as all good things are come upon you, which the LORD your God promised you; so shall the LORD bring upon you all evil things, until he have destroyed you from off this good land which the LORD your God hath given you (Joshua 23:14-15).
For the LORD [who is utterly faithful] will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance (Psa 94:14).
And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he [Christ] that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war (Rev 19:11).
Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday (Psa 37:3-6).
Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it. Hearken unto me, ye stouthearted, that are far from righteousness (Isa 46:9-12).
God's faithfulness can also be seen with the apostle Paul. Scriptures instruct us, For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin (Rom 7:18-25). Paul confessed that in his flesh dwelt no good thing and that he was in bondage to the law of sin, yet God the Father called and strengthened Paul to serve the law of God in his mind. Paul was a sinner, but God was faithful to use Paul mightily.
Gods faithfulness is most evident in the death and resurrection of His son: But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him (Rom 5:8-9). We were and are evil, yet Christ gave us His life and suffered the wrath of God so that we would not die or suffer the wrath of God.

Hear my prayer, O LORD, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness. And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justifiedFor the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead. Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate. I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands. I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah. Hear me speedily, O LORD: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit. Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; forI lift up my soul unto thee. Deliver me, O LORD, from mine enemies: I flee unto thee to hide me. Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness. Quicken me, O LORD, for thy name's sake: for thy righteousness' sake bring my soul out of trouble. And of thy mercy cut off mine enemies, and destroy all them that afflict my soul: for I am thy servant
(Psalms 143:1-12).
"Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea,I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish. Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought. For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee
(Isaiah 41:10-13).
But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift
you up
(James 4:7-10).
